Are you planning to write the 2026/2027 JAMB UTME or Direct Entry exam? Before you can register, you must first create your JAMB profile and the good news is, there are 3 simple methods to do this: USSD, SMS, and Online.
This guide will walk you through each method step by step so you can choose the one that works best for you.
Why Do You Need a JAMB Profile?
Your JAMB profile is compulsory for:
- Registering for UTME and DE
- Checking your admission status
- Printing JAMB result or admission letter
- Making changes like name, date of birth, institution, etc.
How to Create JAMB Profile Using USSD Code Method
Method 1: USSD Code Method (Easy and Fast)
- Dial 550191*NIN# or *660191NIN# from the phone number you want to use.
- Replace “NIN” with your 11-digit National Identification Number.
- Example: 550191*12345678901#
- Press send.
After this, you will receive an SMS from JAMB with your Profile Code (10-digit code) and Full name linked to your NIN. This service costs N50.
Method 2: SMS Method
If the USSD does not work, try SMS:
- Send an SMS in this format:
NIN [your 11-digit NIN]
Example: NIN 12345678901 - Send it to 55019 or 66019 (either one works): You will get a message with your 10-digit Profile Code and Name attached to your NIN.
Method 3: Online Method
If you prefer to use the internet? Here is how:
- Visit the official JAMB portal: https://portal.jamb.gov.ng

- Then click “Sign Up”.
- Fill in your:

• Phone number
• Full name (as it appears on NIN)
• Password
• Security questions - Click Verify Email.
- Login to your email and click the link from JAMB to continue.
